Instruction For Use

WOUNDCLOT™ Surgical

SURGICAL HAEMOSTATIC Dressing

For surgical procedures

Sterile contents

Product Size:  5x5cm (2”x 2”), 10x10cm (4”x 4”)

Indications: WoundClot bio-absorbable Surgical Gauze is intended for bleeding control during surgical procedures.

Application: WoundClot Surgical is dissolvable, keep dry until application.

1. Open sterile pack

2. Gently place flat (unfolded) WoundClot over the bleeding site.

3. Hold the gauze gently on the bleeding site for a few seconds to achieve adherence, make
sure the gauze is saturated with blood (do not move the gauze once placed)

4. The gel formed will adhere to the wound and stop the bleeding.

5. If the bleeding persists, remove the existing gauze and apply a new gauze over the               bleeding site.

Removal:   Although WoundClot Surgical is fully absorbable, it is advised to remove excess material once haemostasis is achieved. Saturate injured area with water or saline solution, and gently remove any excess material from the wound.

While it is used to help achieve haemostasis in, around or in proximity to foramina in bone, areas of  bony confine, spinal cord, optic nerve and chiasm- excess material must always be removed after  haemostasis is achieved since the product could swell and may exert unwanted pressure in these areas.

Storage:    Keep sealed packets in an ambient environment and a dry place for maximum shelf life.

Warnings: WoundClot is not intended for wound healing. WoundClot is not anyimicrobial or intended to prevent infections. WoundClot gauze is supplied sterile.

WoundClot Trauma

Non-Oxidised Non-Regenerated Cellulose Haemostat of Plant Origin.

Emergency Haemostatic Dressing

For moderate and severe traumatic bleeding.

WoundClot hemostatic gauze comprises a completely new hierarchy of material engineering from its molecular level, through optimization of its physical properties, interaction with blood and maximization of its clotting promotion capabilities.

Its unique biocompatibility effectively solves the major thromboembolism problem demonstrated by other major hemostatic dressings over long term use (in situe >24hrs).

There is no contraindication for its use in terms of tissue type, volume of bleeding, site of hemorrhage, or medications taken for comorbidities. There are no side-effects,

risks or complications.

Class 2b Medical Device: Not licenced to be left in the body following application.

Removal: Once hemostasis is achieved, remove by saturatng the gauze with water or saline solution, then gently remove any excess gauze material away from the wound.

Report Incident to Manufacture

WoundClot Surgical, the most effective and safest absorbable haemostat on the market today!

This next generation haemostat is ready immediately for application even on severe bleeds, is plant based so contains no animal or human products, is fast acting, no application pressure is required, is easy to remove but if left in has a fast & clean absorption profile with no reported adverse events after more than 1 million applications to date.

The current generation of haemostats be they oxidised/oxidised regenerated cellulose, gelatin, collagen, patches or flowable types containing human and/or animal products are not indicated for severe bleeds, do not form a cohesive uniform gel to stick to and seal the wound, require application pressure, and reported events are many!
